Spiralling Thursday 10th - not dizzy yet

Posted by Mark Bridgman Smith on December 11, 2009 at 5:15 AM

It's a theory that still holds, orange wednesdays and no rain thursdays.....

A night of firsts.....

New member Dave's first thursday ride (in club colours!!); welcome,

The first "flat"; Dave again, and and an impressively swift change (conti' folders, the biz!)

first attak by rabid terriers...

and dare i say it...... the lap record, mmm, for now.

Gary it appears turns up for the club run in middle of his commute home,

we are made of stern stuff us BDCCers, although yours truly nearly bailed early with cold feet (wus!!)

As per chairman Steve's instructions the laps got faster as the night went on and Mr Alan beasted me on the last one, the route claims to be flat but with tiring legs the small drag out of Elmton made it's presence felt, but we were rewarded with a 30min lap!

1 month in now and the route is really beginning to show it's true quality as although it is a flat route, the small inclines that are spread out along it allow for small personal sprint challenges and "crests" to aim for especially when you want to kick up your heart rate on cold evenings.

Keen as i am, i won't be riding on Christmas eve, (nice glass of port and cycling weekly for me!) so next week is the last one! could we make it into double figures and halt the traffic on mansfield road? For the record Mr Alan 4! laps next week see you there.

cheers
