Spiraling - 20th May

Posted by Steve Crapper on May 20, 2010 at 2:56 PM

The weather has turned , perhaps the hottest evening of the year so far tempted a total of eleven riders out for tonights ride, yes i repeat 11 !!!

To try and keep a little bit of spice in our invention of spiraling, I suggested that we reverse the usual 10 mile loop so that it ran Clowne,Elmton, Whaley & then Bolsover...

In hindsight this could have been an error , despite being a cracking route , and one that i prefer to the usual way around , it is most definately harder , with a long drag from Whaley up towards Bolsover. This hill split the group into a very small slower group and a group of faster riders.

Not wanting to discourage the less fit amongst us , i elected to hang back in the slower group and at this point i had to bid the main group goodbye , hope they all enjoyed the ride

one point to note...GREENFLY !! , im still scraping them from my teeth

see you all next week

I picked several greenflies out of my hair on the way to work this morning!

I found a whole host of mini beasts inside my shirt. 3/4 zips, maybe not such a good idea.
