As discussed and agreed at the last club meeting held on Monday 5 October, club meetings will in future be held every two months with alternate Committee meetings and Social meetings. Social meetings will be held on the first Monday of every 'even' month (i.e. February, April, June, August, October and December), whereas Committee meetings will be a bit more flexible and will be arranged to suit Committee members. Committee meetings will be held during 'odd' months (i.e. January, March, May, July, September and November).

The main reason for the change is that a lot of the business of the club is fairly routine and not very interesting for the average member. The social meeting will be an opportunity to talk cycling and suggest future club activities. We could invite a speaker, show a film, do some bike maintenance, go for a ride or whatever anyone fancies - suggestions welcome. As also mentioned at the last meeting, future meetings will be held at Oxcroft Miners Welfare.

This means that there will not be a meeting next Monday (2 November). We will, however, be holding our first floodlit Go-Ride coaching session at Oxcroft Miners' Welfare, Clowne Road, Stanfree, Chesterfield, S44 6AG, starting at 6:00pm and finishing at 7:30pm. This will be open to riders aged 7 to 16 and will be the first of four sessions leading to a Go-Ride Racing event on Saturday 5 December. There will be a nominal charge of £1 per participant per session.

There will be a Committee meeting in November, probably sometime next week (date TBC). Non-committee members will be able to attend as observers, but will not be entitled to vote. Committee meeting agendas and minutes will be circulated via the e-mailing list and will be posted on the website.

More information soon...
