I would be very interested in riding the DD in 2010 and would be happy to share the experience with other like minded (i.e. slightly mad) members.

For those you who haven't heard of the Dunwich Dynamo, it is the now legendary 120 mile overnight ride from Hackney to Dunwich on the Suffolk Coast, which is run on the Saturday night nearest to the full moon every July.

There is more info on the Southwark Cyclists' website: http://www.southwarkcyclists.org.uk/dunwichfaqs.shtml.

The Bike Show has featured the DD a couple of times and there is a link to the 2008 podcast from the dunwichfaqs page. It even features on YouTube - there is an excellent bit of footage of Charlotte Barnes who rode last years Dynamo on a penny farthing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91PBQUWZCp8.

Anyone interested?

this has been on my list for a number years,

i would be well keen, and if i get the company vehicle i want, should have the bus to take 4 like minded nutters, cautionary note it is a self supported event there is no back up / broom wagon, nonetheless an excellent experience, cheers Mark

The Guardian Bike Podcast covered this years ride and it does sound good fun. Unfortunately I'm doing London to Paris that weekend.

are we seriously up for this?  it clashes with the Tour of the Black mountains in wales which i'm keen on and have family down, there so could make a weekend of it. But if it is going to be a team event i'll support my fellow club members?

I'm still interested, but have yet to broach it with the family. Found this clip on YouTube - a TV feature on the 2007 Dun Run - gives a good flavour of the ride...
