Despite Steve's suggestion of a ride to Lincoln for the Lincoln GP, here's another one of my suggested Sunday Ride routes, this time to Lea near Matlock, where there is a tea room at Lea Gardens, which are worth a visit if you like that sort of thing (http://leagarden.co.uk/default.aspx). I'd recommend visiting the tea garden cafe link to whet your appetite.

Here's the route - a hilly little number of some 37 miles: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3694710

There are strong rumours that a pass has been arranged and I will make an appearance with maps to ensure a safe, if slow, passage to Lea and back. Riber Castle is also on the agenda - just because it is there.

See you on Sunday :D

if you have never been to lincoln gp then youve missed one of the best races on the premier calander, the battles on the cobbles of saint michaels gate are classic ,its far more of an interest to cyclists than lea tea rooms .if you go to lincoln let me know

as is the focus at B&DCC , there is something to suit everyone Martyn , so while some of us may want to ride over to Lincoln & watch the racing , there are plenty who enjoy a ride out to a cafe...so in all honesty there could well be two options this Sunday

to keep some consistency we will discuss the fine details on the calendar section for the 9th of May

Happy to save Lea for another week (tea rooms et al). The suggested run for Sunday 16 May was to Retford, so easy enough to move this forward by a week and route it via East Markham - en route to Lincoln for the GP or to Retford and back to Bolsover for a 47 mile Sunday run.

The route outline (using the ever popular Gmaps Pedometer) is here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3694823. The outward leg could easily be re-routed via Cuckney / Thoresby / Bothamsall / West Markham for a faster run to East Markham.

I'd be interested in doing the Lincoln GP run.The race starts at 10 am so I'm assuming a 7 am set off time.

John

I dont think we would drag too many people out of bed at that time , realistically although the race starts at 10:30 it goes on till 1:30 , so i think getting there by 11:30 would mean you would still see all the action. i think we can still do that with a 9am start if we start as two groups and get our heads down for some through and off
