First reactions when Matt first suggested this were probably very much the same as others amongst you. Cyclists trying to power a boat? Upper body strength? Muscles in the arms? HaHa!! your're having a laugh. We're useless unless we can sit down and thrash around with our legs. Not only that, it involves water - you want us to run the risk of getting wet as well!! Then I overheard someone talking about rowing and I heard them say "cadance". Ears pricked up and it was followed by "stroke rate" and getting a rythmn. Hold on a minute, this is a language I can understand. Cadance, this is the cyclists rythmn method
Better still, it could be a fun day out for the whole family - with them laughing at our efforts; our own little pic nic/bbq area; publicity tent thing - and did someone say with beer? More importantly, there is the charity element. Come on people, we can do this. Let Matt know you can be one of the BDCC crew. Anyway, the sun is going to shine, isn't it?

Well done Steve. Haven't you been weakened by an injury of late as well. I'm sure it's been mentioned a few times

Oh well, we tried...
I have formally given notice that we were unable to muster more than a very skeleton crew (only 4 definite yes's in the end). Perhaps the lack of wheels put people off?
At least our deposit goes to a good cause and we aren't the only team to have withdrawn due to lack of crew members.
