Bolsover & District Cycling Club

The Club has a number of forthcoming events (including one this Sunday) where we need a few willing volunteers to help on the day. All of these events present an excellent opportunity to publicise the Club and our rides and events, run activities, recruit members and have a bit of fun at the same time. Help is needed with:

- transporting kit

- setting up

- running stalls

- running activities (rides / Go-Ride activities / races)

- taking down and packing away

Any offers of help would be appreciated even if you only have an hour to spare and can help with set up or take down. Steve and I are currently working on some marketing (posters, flyers, business cards, etc.). We are also sorting a marquee, which should make its debut at Bolsover Gala (fingers crossed).

The events are:

Sunday 13 June: Shirebrook Action Sport Festival, Shirebrook Town Park, 10:00am - 4:00pm

We will be running mountain bike rides and BMX Racing at the event as well as a club stall. Set up from 9:00am

Tuesday 15 June: Derbyshire County Cricket Club Centenery Celebration Event, Blackwell Miners Welfare (evening)

An opportunity for a promotional stall.

Saturday 19 June: Chesterfield Bicyle Film Festival, Chesterfield Library, 12:00 - 4:30pm

We will be running a club stall. FREE tickets available for the films (2 showings 1:30pm and 3:00pm). Set up from 11:00am.

Sunday 27 June: Bolsover Gala, Hornscroft Park, 11:00am - 4:00pm

Our local gala, now in it's third year. We wil be running a club stall and a few Go-Ride activities (subject to space). Set up from 9:00am.

Saturday 3 July: Tibshelf Festival of Sport, Tibshelf School (time TBC)

 We did this last year - another club stall and more Go-Ride activities, possibly a few races as there is plenty of space. Set up from 9:00am. Tibshelf is a possible second venue for a Go-Ride coaching programme.

Friday 9 July: MTB Race Night, Glapwell Country Park, first race 7:00pm

We are hosting the second of VC Nottingham's race nights at the now legendary Glapwell Country Park. Plenty of jobs from course marking to marshalling. You could even race if that's your bag.

Sunday 18 July: Adventure Sports Festival, Pleasley Vale, 10:00am - 4:00pm

Now in its fourth year. We normally run mountain bike rides, but we could do Go-Ride and / or racing and have another stall. Set up from 8:00am. There is an excellent FREE BBQ after the event.
