There are three events very local to us - two from Bolsover and one from Cuckney that the club is promoting. So far club members are a bit thin on the ground and only Gary has entered (all three - chapeau!).

The events are:

Saturday 7 August, Lincolnshire Cross (207km from Cuckney)

Saturday 25 September, Beast of Bolsover (105km from Bolsover)

Saturday 30 October, Colourful Clumber (110km from Bolsover)

Entry is open now - I've already had a few - £5 (£4 for the Beast) for a scenic ride in good company with FREE food at the finish. No transponders needed...

See the Audax UK website for more info and an entry form http://www.aukweb.net/cal/index.htm (scroll down for events) or reply to this message and I will email you a form.

Matt,

have you got the map link for the round chesterfield ride please,

John H and I are up for using it as an mtb challenge ride.

Thanks

Mark

have you sold the isla bike?

Nicely off topic, but never mind...

I put the original route on BikeHike before Mr. Bike Hike pulled all of the routes off the site due to threats of litigation. If I can get my hands on a copy of Memory Map I would be happy to plot the route so that you could follow it via GPS. I do have a pdf of a hand drawn route somewhere, which I will email to you.

The Islabike is still for sale and will be listed on ebay in the next couple of weeks if not sold before.

Thanks Matt,

we are seriously interested in the bike,

we should meet and have a chat, (i'll bring some cash) no pint in paqying e bay fees,

i'm away with work this weekend will surface sometime next week.

thanks Mark

it strikes me as that round chesterfield ride is prime meat for an off road sportive/audax with an extra loop out to tibby to make a meatier 70/80 mile option.

this type of event is different and rare, the tour of the cornfields was well attended 200 ish riders, could be a good revenue stream for the club.
