The actual kit (cuurent design) does appear in the members content / event phots, albeit when in use.

A new supplier gives us chance to tweak the current design a bit - for instance it has been pointed out that the club name is not obvious on the front of the shirt - perhaps adding a green panel (a la Team Sky's kit in the Tour of Britain) with the club name would be the answer. We'd have to fit sponsors logos around that.

We could also have alternative 'race' and 'ride' versions, with the ride version being a 'retro' design?

Not sure what I'm after as the Giordana kit is holding up well. Fancy a gilet though....

I'm a bit of a fan of Endura stuff, they're pretty good value for money and the kit usually has a lot of the features found on only the more expensive stuff.  Durability seems to vary from item to item but is generally quite good.  I've got one jersey that is practically bomb-proof!

I'm fairly interested in the idea of getting some club kit, not that I've managed to drag my backside to any club rides since my first, my schedule generally doesn't allow for the later weekday starts at the moment :/

Anyway, budget allowing I'd be looking at something along the lines of the Downhill Jersey (3/4 sleeves) and the Windtex Jacket (Lightweight).

I'm interested in a skin suit and a windtex jacket. I know they're not in the catalogue but do they do caps?

Couple of questions....

Will the Club be changing its design for next season and when do you think the order might go in/ clothes be back with us?

I definately want to order some new kit, will we be getting samples for sizing etc or is it a case of getting measurements sorted out ?

I would like a Gilet, Jacket and Winter tights, Possibly more if it's a case of changing the design too.

Could we possibly get a rep to come and have a specific meeting with us and have a sizing session ?

Steve or Matt, could you find out if we can get mtb clothing as well, ie things like Single Track pants and shorts, over trousers.

Can anyone purchase the club clothing or do newbies have to earn the right to wear it first? I realise am not a particularly good advert for club but would like a club shirt for the sportives I intend doing next year? (maybe with an 'L' plate stuck to the back if necessary??) Am planning some shorter charity rides on tandem with my young'un too so maybe I could buy him a shirt too? when will the kit be available to order?

thanks

Hi Jules, I'm sure Steve or Matt will respond with updates on when the kit is going to be available. I know they are working to close the deal with a few sponsers so it should be happening soon. In terms of wearing the kit the fact that you get out on your bike and your a club member is all that is important. The club isn't elitist. I'm new to riding as well and have been made to feel very welcome.

Apologies to those of you waiting for kit...

Our first batch of shirts was produced by Giordana in 2008 and we managed to secure sponsorship to reduce the cost to members. Since then, membership has grown and we now need to order another batch.

After some discussion and price comparing, Endura has been chosen as the preferred supplier - largely because they offer a bigger range (including women specific kit) which is made in the UK. A new supplier gives us chance to tweak the design slightly and secure more / different sponsors. We are very close to sorting the sponsorship and the design will be tweaked by Endura once we have all of the necessary logos. The draft design will be circulated for comment once we have it.

All we need now is to decide what we need to order - if the order exceeds £3,500 then we receive a 20% discount (effectively zero VAT), so the price of the kit will be as in the Endura catalogue http://www.scribd.com/doc/27387573/Endura-Custom-10 .

Kit is available to anyone who wants it as this is the club's best advertisement. Unlike in other clubs (mentioning no names), there is no need to 'earn' the right to wear it.

Kit will be on the agenda for the committee meeting next week, so we should be ready to order within the next couple of weeks.
