Hi People I've recently picked up an indoor traininer for my mountain bike and I was wondering if anyone had a spare rear mountain bike wheel knocking about? The trainer uses it's own quick release skewer and obviously works better with a slick tyre rather than a huge knobbley one so I was hoping to put together a spare rear wheel that I can swap over when wanting to use the trainer, instead of having to remove the QR, tyre and tube every time. The bike I'm using it with has an 8 speed rear cassette but I can always pick up a cheap replacement if your wheel has a different cassette. If anyone has one I'd be happy to take it off your hands for a modest fee! I just don't want to have to fork out for a whole new wheel if possible. Cheers Matt

I've a spare I got off e-bay a few years ago and it just sits in the garage gathering dust. Can't remember the spec. I'll dig it out in morning and let you know.

Cool, I'd appreciate that.

Deore FH-M555 hub with Mavic X317 disc rim. I've never had it on a bike so I'm not sure how true it is, freehub seems smooth by hand. Odd few cosmetic scratches on rim.

Sounds OK, how much do you want for it?

Member Posts: 45 | I'm pretty laid back on price. Say £20 but open to negotiation when you've seen it. I'm not going to be free until Friday night but pretty flexible after that. I'm in Clowne. Email me on garyh@wood-newton.com if you want a look.
