As previously mentioned after a poor turn out for other club organised rides we need to add these events to the calendar well in advance so people know the dates and can plan accordingly.

Colourful Clumber is indeed running this year, on Saturday 29 October, 9:00am from Bolsover, 114km to Misterton and back via Clumber park (out along the Limetree Avenue and back over the bridge).

The route is here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=4137320

Over 40 entries so far with a limit of 100, so if you want to ride let me know (post or PM) and I'll add you to the start list. EoL is OK as long as I know you're riding. Free tea / biscuits at the start and food at the finish, all for a bargain £5.00 entry fee. Entry forms are on the Audax UK website: https://www.aukweb.net/forms/evententryform.php?Ride=11-31&formtype=eventonly

I'm still tinkering with a few details (e.g. exact start location (cafe or hall)), but will have these sorted by early next week.

As other posters have mentioned, this would be an excellent opportunitiy to get as many club members out as possible in the new kit. There are a few unattached riders signed up to ride, so we may be able to hoover a few of these into our ever expanding fold.

If you've never ridden an Audax event before, they are essentially a more laid back spotive, without the bells and whistles and the hefty entry fee. Plus you carry a brevet card to prove you've ridden the route.

Hope to see a good number of you at the start.

Ooooops i never thought Steve. Having missed the first few cx races this year i guess it doesn't matter. I certainly want to do a full cx season next year.

would have loved this, but am planning on being under the North Sea with some seals for a few days.  Hopefully back to club rides next week.

Thanks to everyone who has agreed to ride on Saturday.

There are a few formalities though...entry is £5.00 and you'll need to fill in an entry form for insurance purposes. I'll bring plenty on the day so you can fill one in then.

The ride starts from the Parish Rooms on Hornscroft Road, opposite the church. We'll be open from 8:00am for signing on, tea and biscuits. The ride starts at 9:00am.

I will email everyone a routesheet so you can familiarise yourself with the route - I guess most of you will be familiar with most of it anyway.

Fingers crossed for good weather.
