We have tried this before with limited sucess, but I really want to get a regular ride sorted out. My preference is for a Saturday morning slot but I know this doesn't fit with everyone. My new suggestion is that we alternate between morning and afternoon slots to allow more people to get involved. As the days are short at the moment I thought we could do a longer ride in the morning slot and a shorter ride in the afternoon. This way we can cater for all abilities. Can you post on here if interested and I will put together a program of rides. I am happy for this to run as a weekly ride if we have enough interest. I will be riding every week anyway. I also want to organise some day trips to Dalby, Cannock, Shropshire etc and would also like to sort some longer trips to the 7 stanes and some of the welsh mtb venues. If we can get something sorted at the social next week that would be great. Cheers Craig

Craig You will have my 100% support in developing these rides on the calendar, ill even look to see if i can get you and Simon some Ride Leader Training. To be honest , i dont think ill be able to make too many of them myself, its had to shuffle everything at the moment and i seem to find I get a better workout on the road...Ill make as many as i can. My gut feeling is that weekly might be too often for you, fortnightly would seem right alternating between morning rides and afternoon rides

Good to see you are trying this again Craig. You have my support when I can attend but weekly for me is too much. Personally I would agree with an alternating fortnightly system of local rides (Peak etc) posted well in advance with the odd trip slotted in for good measure? Let me know if you need help with plans,

Ok. Lets try and get something sorted for fornightly rides. How about we start off on the 14th January with a steady little loop of about 20km thats starts out from Curbar Gap car park (top of Froggatt hill). Some technical singletrack below baslow edge before a blast down fraoggatt hill to Calver. A grind up to longstone edge before scooting round to Baslow via Rowland, Hassop and Pilsley. A peak classic ascent up to the wellington monument before a few km oftracks and lane to finish. We can then head to Outside at Calver for a brew before we head home. How does a 1PM start from Curbar Gap sound? Cheers Craig

I'll be up for the odd Saturday ride subject to approval from SWMBO. Also got a lad from Clowne who's interested in doing some proper riding.

We can meet at the top of Froggatt Hill at Curbar Gap. There is a pay and display car park on the rhs bfore you start going down the hill to Calver. There is also free parking a little bit further on after you start going down the hill below Curbar edge and on the roadside as you approach the car park.

Enjoyed today's ride Craig thanks and certainly up for Saturday (or Sunday for that matter) rides on the weekends that I don't have my sons. Looking forward to next time now and certainly welcome the prospect of going further afield. Dalby, Cannock etc etc sound great.....

It was great Tony! I will do a write up later today. I'm well up for going to Llandegla. I planned to stop in when we came back from a family holiday in wales, but in the end we just came home. I will add it to the list of venues.
