Does anyone fancy a weekend trip to North wales. I have just got a new guide to Welsh MTB which also has the details of the Long Mynd / Shropshire area for the day trip at the end of March. There are 2 rides I have in mind for wales, both in the Snowdon area. One is a 21 km loop taking in the summit of snowdon and the other is another tough ride locally. There is a ban on riding Snowdons bridalways between May and September so thinking of a late April trip. If there are any takers we can pin down a date and sort accomodation etc. Please note, both routes are pretty tough by all accounts so while the distances aren't massive it will be a hard couple of days riding. Cheers Badger

The other route is a 27 km loop starting from Capel Curig. Both of these rides look awesome, but very hard work. There will be 8-10 hours riding over the course of the 2 days. If the weather ends up being rubbish we can always bail out to the all weather tracks of Coed y Brenin or Coed Llandegla.

The ride is happening Tony, and you are more than welcome. It is a really good ride which I have done a few times before. The descent and climb back out of Cheedale are really good (well the up bit is a slog but the location is nice) followed by some awesome walled, slightly rocky singletrack

I'm thinking of a super cheap trip. Camping or bunk house type accomodation. Early start from Bolsover so we get a ride in the first day and then early start next day so we are back in good time. Will check out some prices and options and repost

We could stay in the snowdon ranger YHA which would cost £19.80 for the night. £16.80 if you have a yha membership. They do breakfast for £5 and evening meals as well or we could hit the pub or they have a self catering kitchen. The only cheaper option would be camping but I would prefer to sleep in a bed.

Hmmm... im doing a bit of investigation, but the club could become an affiliate YHA member...all our members would then be entitled to the reduced rate accomodation...a nice membership perk !

Hi Badger I'm certainly interested in this and happy with the £20 night in the YHA. What dates do you have in mind? The main consideration for me, is whether or not I have my children that weekend - other than that I'm free to go... Scott
